Kendriya Vidyalaya, Nangal Bhur came into existence on July 22nd, 1984 under the able guidance of Lt. Col AN Desh Pandey as the Chairman & Sh. Anand Saroop Bansal as Principal. The Vidyalaya had a humble beginning with nearly 300 students & Ten teachers with classes 1st to 5th. There were a lot of problems in the initial stages because of temporary infrastructure but gradually it took out a proper shape and rose from class to class every year. K V Nangal Bhur comes under KVS Chandigarh Region. This school is affiliated with CBSE New Delhi. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an Autonomous body under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
In 1994 Vidyalaya shifted to its permanent building situated very close to National Highway-44 leading from Jalandhar to Pathankot. The Vidyalaya is situated in scenic surroundings with rural background around it and is catering the educational needs of children of neighbouring Armed Force units, Retired personnel and the local population.
In the session 2023-24 Vidyalaya was selected for the PM SHRI Scheme of Ministry of Education, Govt of India. Consequently the nomenclature was updated as PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Nangal Bhur.
Today Vidyalaya has grown into a full-fledged Senior Secondary School with two sections each from class I to X and three sections in class XI & XII with Science, Commerce and Humanities stream. About 1000 students (Boys and girls) are studying in the Vidyalaya at present.
Vidyalaya has a beautiful campus with a Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball, Kho-Kho ground, Badminton court, Cricket stadium, Children park, Front gardens and Scout & Guide park spread in 9.75 Acres of land. The Vidyalaya is providing quality education to about 1000 students through a learned faculty of teachers and quality infrastructure, having well equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Junior Science lab, Mathematics and Computer lab, Music, Games, SUPW and Drawing departments, Guidance and Counselling cell and a big and well-furnished Library.
